This article explores the observation of artists physically involving themselves in their work, whatever the medium. When video became available, artists were able to use this medium for a more intimate aesthetic. The article demonstrates the different ways visual artists use video as an extension to their practices, and list examples of talented video artists and what kind of work they've made with this modern technology.
