Lorna Simpson's installation 31 is a detailed study of a young woman's day. Simpson presents 31 versions on multiple screens. The soundtrack is of street noise, conversation fragments, office sounds, club music and sleep breathing. The scene rapidly shifts from the banal to the unusual, indicating that "as a viewer the more you see, the less you know and the more you question".
