John Marriott
Artforum, Mar. 1998, v. 36, no. 7
A review of Art that says Hello, John Marriott's humble street interventions that offer “neither epiphany nor didactism, but simply an extra-daily experience” for curious passersby. Refusing remuneration and situated in public space, Art that says Hello relates to his past work in proposing critiques of the self-legitimazing mechanisms of art and corporate culture, but from a markedly less cynical, subtler perspective.
