Video show off to promising start

by John Bentley Mays

The Globe and Mail, Mar. 19, 1980

The article is a review of Projected Parts, a video art show at the Art Gallery of Ontario featuring the works of various international and Canadian artists such as Lisa Steele and Tomiyo Sasaki. Other featured artists include William Wegman, Richard Foreman, Antonio Muntadas, General Idea and Vera Frenkel.

Tomiyo Sasaki's 20 minute work Bubbling depicts several people blowing bubbles with gum. The piece manipulates colour and uses a sharp editing style.

In Lisa Steele's Tunnel of Love and Gloria, she portrays a welfare mother who talks endlessly about her troubles.
