A luminous site
The Province, Mar. 24, 1986
Review of Cornelia Wyngaarden's As a Wife Has a Cow at the Vancouver Museum of Contemporary art. Wyngaarden uses a multimonitor installation to examine conventions of storytelling and feminism. Keeley Moll speaks of her childhood, taking the place of the "Marlboro Man" in typical country western imagery. This, along with images of cowboys on cows rather than bulls, contributes to a "captivating re-evaluation of stereotyping." This work appears as part of the Luminous Sites Program.
