Artist fails to get injunction
The Globe and Mail, Feb. 28, 1984, p. P19
British Columbia's Supreme Court rejects Paul Wong's injunction against the Vancouver Art Gallery. Wong had filed the injunction to get his work Confused: Sexual Views shown at the gallery, which had recently been cancelled on grounds of "no aesthetic merit" and "indencency." Wong accepts the courts decision, but intends to pursue the VAG in a civil suit, to which the court agreed would be more quantifiable and likely for him to win.
