Oka through the eyes of Obomsawin
Maclean's, July 10, 2000, v. 113, no. 28, p. 45
Alanis Obomsawin's documentary Rocks at Whiskey Trench focuses on the 1990 Oka standoff, where on August 28, Mohawk women, children and elders fled the Kahnawake reserve to escape the advancing Canadian army. This, like many other of Obomawin's works, looks at the relationship First Nations individuals have with the governement and non-First Nations individuals.
