She sang up a swim pool for her village

First Nations folk singer Alanis Obomsawin was named an outstanding Canadian by Maclean's magazine in 1965.
She performed at the Algoma Folk festival in 1964, singing traditional songs. She also built a swimming pool at her reserve for children who couldn't swim in the local river which was polluted.
