Michael Shamberg discusses his own, as well video in general's, beginnings in the late 1960s and 70s. Shamberg posits that, through his recounts, good video art (whatever the subject or in whatever time) takes on familiar forms and presents them in a way that makes the viewer think or perceive them differently. Shamberg also dicusses his ideas as to the future of video art, positing that it will grow toward film.
