Observer Participant: Two Sides of the Same Drawing
Xtra!, Mar. 27, 2008, no. 611, p. 23
This article is a short review of Sadie Benning's exhibition Play Pause, screening at the Power Plant. Play Pause is a 30-minute two screen video installation. It is made up of snap-shot style drawings and records a lonely walk through the city. Play Pause differs from traditional animation in that the movement is not fluid, lending a "do-it-yourself punk sensibility" to the work.
