Video In/ Video Out
Canadian Images, 1984, pp. 18-19
Canadian Images is presenting a programme devoted to video work titled Video In/ Video Out.
Since its birth in the late 1960's video art has had a difficult time being taken seriously by the public. Several factors such as poor distribution, the rise in popularity of music videos and the utopic view that video is the high-tech 'medium of the future' have led to this.
Different sections within the programme such as The Mass Media/Our Media, Portraits on Tape and Who's In Charge focus on different themes within the art form.
