In an interview prompted by Clive Robertson's archival retrospective Then + Then Again members of SAW gallery discuss with him the evolving contributions of "artist-run" centres to Canadian museum culture. The dialogue assess the difficulties in achieving balancing between innovative community oriented programming and the tight restrains of public funding. Exploring his own contributions as artistic director of SAW gallery in the nineteen seventies, Robertson highlights the need for artist-run centres as an entry point for emerging artists, critics and curators.
