Spinning Wildly or Sitting Still: High tech vs. the new Minimalism
Performance Magazine, Feb. 1 Winter, 1988, no. 52, pp. 21-23
In this article, the author explores the differences in video art production. Though some artists utilize the technological devices that allow for saturated, fast paced video images, others engage in processes that are more central to minimalist and conceptual ideas. Two of the sources sites for each category are Ingo Gunther's "Rotorama" for its jump cuts and editing proficiency, the second is Yogoslavian artists Breda Beban and Hrvoje Horvatic for their slow, gradual long works.
