Video Technology and the Feminine
Parallelogramme, 1992, v. 18, no. 3, pp. 24-37
This article focuses on the contradiction faced by contemporary women artists who work in technological media. The domain in which they are operating has been historically masculine, yet women's current access to electronic production tools seem to belie any gender barrier. Indeed, women have benefited by these tools in the last two decades to the extent that they have offered some freedom from the sexist art historical and critical practices attached to more established media.
