Mediating Indigineity- The Journal of Knud Rasmussen: A Sense of Memory and High-definition Inuit Storytelling
Fuse, 2008, v. 31, no. 3, pp. 31-33
A review surrounding Isuma Productions' latest publication, The Journal of Kund Rasmussen, where 25 authors including Norman Cohn, Neal McLeod and even David Suzuki reflect on how film functions as a high-tech storytelling medium. Responding to the screenplay The Journals, each author explores how film and new media have addressed, circumvented and supplemented the absence of a literary tradition in many Indigenous cultures. Isuma has continued the dialogue generated by the book in setting up an interactive website which acts as a nexus for sharing and disseminating Indegenous film from all over the world.
