Haile Gerima talks about his process and ideology in filmmaking. Obsessed with anti-exploitation, struggle and the idea that a film could be therapeutic to the viewer Gerima also has created a distribution company, Mypheduh Films which gives him and other filmmakers that share his vision the chance to distribute their films Independent of existing infrastructures. Gerima reflects on independent filmmaking as a political stance and why he has never made a film in Hollywood, on his philosophies of teaching, and about making films for, about, and with the developing world.
