Brett Kashmere's film Valery's Ankle is a contempletive digital essay reflecting on how Canada's permissive stance on hockey violence contradicts a Canadian image as a sportsmanlike, polite, peacekeeping country. SceneandHeard is an online magazine, and the film is discussed in relation to it's screening in the International Shorts program 2 at Toronto's Images Festival in 2008.
