Individuals: New Video From Canada
Aspetti e Tendenze della Ricerca Video Canadese, 1989
Ferrara: Ferrara: Centro Video Arte, 1989
In this article from an exhibition (Feb. 4 thru May 6 1989) catalogue, Peggy Gale elaborates on some of the differences between American and Canadian video art practices. Gale argues that Canadian works, due to Canada's long documentary film tradition, tend to feature narrative, which stands in contrast to the many abstract video works made by American artists. Gale goes on to describe some of the works selected for the exhibition.
