Connecting Voices: An Interview with Richard Fung: Point of View
The Independent Eye, Winter 1991, v. 12, no. 2, pp. 32-37
James Macswain conducts an interview with development education filmmaker Richard Fung. Development Education Centre Film and Video Works produces and compiles intercultural awareness films about "crossover" Third World issues involving anti-racism, queer perspectives and feminism with a shared anthropological approach. The videos are intended for community and pedagogical audiences from both developed and developing nations. Fung cites a fickle situation with video format conventions and stresses the importance of funding for development communications to reinvigorate the Canadian public's openmindedness towards Third World and minority issues.
