Curator Donna Wawzonek analyzes Nelson Henrick's Map of the City video installation series. She identifies the metaphorical nature of his projected images of books as buildings which in turn constitutes the metropolitan landscape. His concept was developed from a previous residence in Rome. Exploring notions of space and passage of time, Henricks juxtaposes a barrage of objects with text to comment on citizenship, individuality and meanings culturally embedded within urban locations.
