Digital Event 07: Curators Talk
In this curator's talk Ulysses Castellanos discusses his curatorial practice as an attempt to make lateral connections between seemingly disparate themes in art and culture. Castellanos' work with Gallery TPW has included attempts to exploit Internet sites like YouTube and blogspot. He describes contemporary art as a "mashup" of innumerable tendencies. Ricardo Rozental and Elvia Saenz discuss their co-owned Toronto coffee shop Tinto, which screens film and video works from global artists. Jorge Lozano discusses his curatorial practice. Vicky Moufawad-Paul discusses the Palestinian video collective known as Balata Collective and some of the artists work.
