When art is politics and politics is art: Art Fag
Capital Xtra, May 1995
"Art Fag" columnist Andrew Griffin reviews Nancy Nicol's video installation Gay Pride and Prejudice, made in response to the passing and eventual removal of Bill 167 preventing exteneded spousal rights for gay and lesbian couples. With a legacy of video work about reproductive rights, Nicol argues that discussing the bill around issues of gay and lesbian respectability has given rise to right-wing attacks on gay and lesbian human rights.
