Filming 'The Struggle for Choice' in Smithers, BC
Broadside - A Feminist Review, May 1987, v. 8, no. 7, p. 7
This article briefly disscusses the film by Toronto video artist Nancy Nicol: The Struggle for Choice. Nicol's film presents the issues surrounding a 17 year period of abortion rights in Canada (1969 - 1987) through interviews of all those effected by abortion: hospitals, individuals and group activists. Her film displays the history of the opposing movements that cling to abortion, the impact that organisations have on the individual and the 'on-going oppression of women's reproductive freedom' surrounding this issue.
