This article discusses the multidisciplinary series titled Racy Sexy which took place in nine different cultural and community based centres of Greater Vancouver in 1993. The events, coordinated by the Chinese Cultural Centre, brought together diverse communities to address issues of race, culture and sexuality in contemporary experience.
This text is an abridged version of an essay commissioned for a forthcoming books on art and social change published by the Visual Arts program at the Banff Centre for the Arts, 1995.
