Paul Wong: Video and Youth
Selector Magazine, Spring 2009, no. 1
In this interview, Paul Wong talks about the his early days of video-making, the influence of punk rock and outsider culture on his work, and his first show, In Ten Sity, at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He reflects that issues of identity and sexuality that were transgressive in the 1970’s have become more permissible with the legalization of gay marriage and increased support for artists of colour, but that this has not changed the importance of personal narrative in his work.
