Author Barton Weiss reviews the packaged-for-home-video-anthology "What Does She Want?", a six-tape collection of video art and independent American cinema from over thirty artists, mostly women. Each work addresses the female identity with the question of what it is that women want.

Works include Made for TV by Eric Bogosian and Ann Magnuson, A Paper Tiger TV Tape by Joan Braderman, and Women with a Past by Lyn Blumenthal, director of Video Data Bank, a video art distribution service that is part of the Art Institute of Chicago.
