Barry Schwabsky reviews Steve McQueen's three-channel video project Drumroll. In comparing this work with McQueen's earlier works, Schwabsky detects the former's interest in narrative as the matter but not as the subject of his work as well as McQueen's concern for the physicality of the activity of filming and viewing film but not that of the film medium.
