In a retrofitted-via-email forum, curators from nine queer film and video festivals (London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (founded in 1977), Outfest: Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (f. 1982), LesbenFilmFestival, Berlin (f. 1985), Festival Internazionale di Cinema Gaylesbico e Queer Culture di Milano (f.1985), MIX-NY Queer Experimental Media Festival, New York (f.1987), image+nation, Montreal (f. 1988), Out on Screen, Vancouver Queer Film + Video Festival (f. 1989), Minneapolis/St. Paul LGBT Film Festival (f.1989), Mix Brasil Festival of Sexual Diversity, São Paulo (f. 1993)) reflect and offer their insights on the current state of the international queer festival network, its history, and the challenges it faces in terms of funding, technological shifts, programming, the globalization of queer culture, audience development, and community networking.
