We don't feel like celebrating with Israel this year
The Globe and Mail, Sept. 8, 2009
As a prominent member of the Jewish community, author/activist Naomi Klein expresses her views on TIFF's Tel Aviv Spotlight. She explains that The Toronto Declaration: No Occupation is not calling for a boycott of the festival but expressing its solidarity with millions of Palestinians displaced and living under occupation whose voice is not represented in the Tel Aviv Spotlight. She states that some wonderful Israeli films included in the Spotlight program deserve to be shown as a regular part the festival, free from the highly politicized frame.
