This article describes the social implications of the work of Dan Graham, who tends to create art that explores self-referentiality of the work itself. Described are various magazine article works and video/installation/performances that employ a sort of feedback loop, which demonstrate reactions representing a social response. The implications of the conceptual underpinnings of Graham's work are contemplated by the author.
