Reviewers Mansour and Pourtavaf highlight the features of the 2009 Toronto Palestine Film Festival which presented "...a nuanced and pluralistic representation of contemporary Palestinian cultural production." Themes from the diverse include: the tensions of Arab American life post 9/11; creative resistance despite limited resources; colonialism and cultural identity; and the Palestinian diaspora. Special programming in the form of an art exhibit, curated by Reena Katz, brings together local and diasporic Palestinian artists.
