Boutros Al Armenian/Mediterranean Modern: Jamelie Hassan, 2000, pp. 1-16
Windsor: Art Gallery of Windsor, 2000
This is a catalogue of an exhibit of work by Jamelie Hassan, which was shown as an installation at a suburban Windsor home, and at the National Gallery of Canada in 2000. Hassan creates a tableau of cultural artifacts in the suburban home, which, along with a quasi-documentary videotape about an itinerant exiled Armenian painter, explores cultural memory and the telling of history. Hassan also explores the idea of a "third space" where cultures intersect, as well as issues of migration and identity.
