"This exhibition features the work of 15 artists from Canada and abroad, many of whom are living outside their countries of origin. It seeks to explore how exile, diaspora, and cultural globalization have changed the meaning of identity, place, and belonging in art at the end of the twentieth century.
While the work reflects in many subtle ways the diversity of the artists' cultural origins, it also vividly demonstrates the process of translation and transformation that occurs as their past and present, origin and destination, come together. These interactions propose a new perspective on the world, linking the artists to a shared global urban culture."
