Tadasu Takamine shocks us, yet again
The Japan Times, Jan. 2011, pp. 1-3
C.B. Liddell's article is a critique of the Too Far to See exhibition at the Yokohama Museum of Art, running from early February until March 20th of 2011. Liddell opens by harshly criticizing Tadasu Takamine's work "Kimura-san", a video of the artist masturbating a disabled man; one which was pulled from a group exhibition at the Yokohama Museum of Art before the exhibition opened. C.B. Lidell accuses Takamine of trying too hard, and remaining unsuccessful in his avant-garde attempts, and he condemns several of his works including "Baby Insa-Dong"and "God Bless America," as being hyper-sexualized and not worthy of viewing.
