Artforum, Nov. 2010, pp. 222-227

Demos looks at how de Boer plays with and disrupts the relationship between sound and image in pieces such as Dissonant (2010), a film of a dance performance, and Two Times 3'44" (2008), a film using John Cage's famous silent composition. The article also at the relationship between perception and sensation in Resonating Surfaces (2005) and Sylvia Kristel - Paris (2003), as well as the notion of politics in both films.
