J.J. Charlesworth contextalizes Doug Fishbone's Elmina (2010) within the current globalization of the art market, and the opportunities for cross-cultural communications it has opened. Fishbone created the work with Ghana's Revele Films, combining his own Western conceptual art with the growing film industry of Ghana to create Elmina, creating a controversial work which combines cultures and forms.
