POV, Spring 2012, no. 85, pp. 14-17
This article discusses the recent difficulty faced by documentary filmmakers in Canada, especially those who want to create art-related documentaries. This difficulty is attributed to the fact that television is a business and how broadcasters are not willing to take chances on programming that isn't guaranteed to draw viewers, preferring reality tv series to oneoff documentaries. The article includes the opinions of various people involved in the industry, and offers both positive and negative perspectives on the situation.
