Border Crossings, Mar. 2009, no. 109, pp. 22-23
This article reviews the only film made by Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad, whose work has had an influence on later Iranian artists and writers, including Shirin Neshat. Farrakhzad's film was shot in a leper colony, and investigates ideas of truth and beauty through its juxtaposition of images and inclusion statements from religious texts and Farrokhzad's own poetry.
