Doubling Narratives
Cineaction, 1992, no. 30, pp. 37-41
Framed within Luce Irigaray's violent poetics, the author asks the reader to consider the little girl's games as an allegory of dereliction - of thwarted desires and the struggle to reckon with loss. Addressed in Let's Play Prisoners is the view that attempts to gain equal power will not overcome a more deeply inscribed logic which equates one gender with domination and the other with submission.
