"Living Letterforms": The Ecological Turn in Contemporary Digital Poetics

Using David Jhave Johnston's Sooth as a starting point, Rita Raley situates the artist within the context of the digital poetry medium. This relatively new from of art-making is hard to define as, being a form of new media, it is constantly reinvented. Concentrating on Jhave's work, this article looks at the ecological qualities of the medium, through attention to typography and concepts such as TAVIT, Text Audio Visual Interactivity.
