Curator, writer and editor Omar Kholeif profiles artist James Richards, with particular attention given to his video works Rose Bud (2013) and Practice Theory (2006). Richards plays with the layers of images, and often abstracts them into textures. Overarching in Richards' work are issues of queer identity and of the navigation between the public and the private.
