Canadian pair describe Cairo jail ordeal: Doctor and filmmaker detained and beaten after seeking police help
Guardian Weekly, Oct. 18, 2013, v. 189, no. 19, p. 7
Patrick Kinglsey relates John Greyson and Tarek Loubani's experience in a Cairo jail. He describes how Greyson and Loubani were beaten, leaving them in pain for over a week. Greyson and Loubani had originally only planned to stay in Egypt very briefly, on their way to Palestine. They were arrested, however, during a protest by supporters of Mohamed Morsi. Greyson and Loubani were finally released in early October, 2013, after brutal treatment and several beatings.
