On July 22nd, 2009, the Winnipeg Film Group screened a program of films by Deirdre Logue, Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan. These works, writes curator and author of the article Jenny Bisch, work outside of the dominant cinematic paradigms in order to offer an intimate look into the artists behind them and to invite the viewer's participation in creating meaning from the images presented. Pushing the confines of the medium, these film and video works use repetition, humour, or monologue to explore internal conflicts and invite viewers to come face-to-face with themselves.
