Kenneth Anger Me

by Jon Davies

C Magazine, Spring, no. 93, pp. 7-8

On an October night, Kenneth Anger stood up in front of a packed audience at the Bloor Cinema and told anecdotes from his career. Following humorous anecdotes and an autograph signing, a complete retrospective of Anger's work was shown. The night was a celebration of Anger and a release for Elio Gelmini's tribute documentary titled Anger Me. The author calls the tribute film a "puff piece" in which Anger narrates the story of his life. The article details the key moments of Anger's career as mentioned in Gelmini's documentary, and explores some of Anger's earlier works such as Fireworks Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome, and Scorpio Rising.
