Loving a Disappearing Image
Cinemas: Journal of Film Studies, 1997, v. 8, no. 1-2, pp. 93-111
The author examines the decaying of video and film and its relation to and identification with the natural decay of the aging human body. This is further compared to the general notion that cinema is dying, both in the sense of individual decay of individual videos and film reels, but also in the sense of the media being forced out by advances in digital formats.
