Alona Rodeh was born in Israel in 1979 and recently spent time in Winnipeg, during which time Robert Enright and Meeka Walsh interviewed her for Border Crossings. The introduction of this article is a thorough biography of Rodeh's artistic pursuits and explores a number of her works, including video peices Barking Dogs Don't Bite and Black Eurythmics. The interview with Rodeh that follows this lengthy introduction explores Rodeh's initiation into the art world, her influences, her interest in music, and her oeuvre, which consists of a variety of media including sculpture, drawing, and video.
