In this interview, Canadian-born, Pittsburgh-based Brett Kashmere describes his diverse practice spanning filmmaking and writing. He talks about his recently completed documentary project, FROM DEEP, about basketball and hip hop culture, and more generally about his interests in sports culture and identity. He also talks about his childhood in rural Saskatchewan and exposure to American culture via TV broadcasts from Detroit and a ski trip to Montana.
