Homo Video
Jump Cut, Mar 1985, no. 30
This article is based on a talk given by the author at a conference at UCLA in 1985, where Greyson was the only speaker dealing with video. He speaks solely on video art created by men, offering a brief history, taking into account the audience, and discusses works that oppose and subvert the formulaic/stereotypical narrative of “gay film” and instead strive to revolve around notions of self-criticality and subversion, as well as offering critiques of capitalism. The piece concludes with a discussion on accountability of the viewers and makers of homo video.
