Moving Image Review & Art Journal (MIRAJ), 2016, v. 5, no. 1&2, pp. 170-184
An interview with Melanie Manchot, conducted by Pratap Rughani. Manchot discusses her multi-channel video work Twelve, which was installed at Peckham Platform in London. Twelve is a two-year project that investigates twelve people's intimate stories, rituals, and repetition of lives spent in addiction and recovery in rehabilitation centers in Liverpool, Oxford, and London. The work is formed by their personal written and oral testimonies, creative conception, and their performances. Some sequences in the film reference scenes from the films of contemporary film-makers Michael Haneke, Gus Van Sant, Bela Tarr and Chantal Akerman.
