Artforum, Apr 2018, p. 18

This article from Artforum introduces the exhibition "Evidentiary Bodies" by Barbara Hammer at the Leslie-Lohman Musum of Gay and Lesbian Art in New York. The author gives an overview of her work which is about queer invisibility and lesbian sexuality at the introduction. Then she meticulously analyzes the work Dyketactics which was her first major work that shows the intimated experience of a group of women showing their nude bodies, and Superdyke Meets Madame X which records Hammer's relationship with the artist Max Almy. At the end of the article, Hammer discusses how she utilizes the visibility in her work as a political act: showing naked body of all ages to the audiences, yet her sensuality still remains.
